2024/25 Bursary Recipients
What a whirlwind this year has been! I can’t believe it is nearly December etc ……. for all these reasons and more we belatedly bring you the 2024/25 Bursary announcement!
In response to the annual Open Call we shared in August via Social Media and a Printed Poster Campaign, Gaada received 18 excellent applications from Shetland Artists for the 3 Bursary opportunities originally advertised.
It was so excruciatingly difficult to make the awards this year, as there were so many artists who clearly demonstrated how they could benefit from a bursary. Despite us implementing a double-blind internal scoring system to ensure total fairness around allocation of support against a small number of opportunities - the strength of the applications was such that it actually prompted our team to review our capacity and find space to award an additional 2 Access Bursaries.
So, in total, 1 Workshop Bursary and 4 Access Bursaries were awarded for 2024/25, and the recipients are as follows:
Selina May-Miller
Wendy Lowe
Kirsty Sandilands
Lizzie Abernethy
Jennifer McLeaskintosh
