Open Access sessions provide members with 3 hours of access to Toogs Artist Workshop facilities. It’s perfect for artists who can work on a semi-independent basis with light support offered by one of our experienced team members. Use the time to complete independent artist projects, or just to explore the facilities for your own personal development!

Open Access comfortably supports upto 5 artists via 4 table spaces (suited for risography, screenprinting, book-making, etching, relief printing etc).
There is also 1 digital workstation (for design or file preparation) which can be accessed alone or with support.

If you require more help with a particular project, you can request an 1-on-1 artist support when you make your Open Access booking. This support is subject to the availability of an additional team member, and is charged at the Scottish Artist Union hourly rate (inclusive of the session cost).

If you are a non-member who wants to try out Open Access, or happen to be visiting Shetland for a short time, you can add on a Visitor Pass to your booking and avoid taking out a membership.
Please note if you are booking as a non-member, you will have access to the Zine Library, half a table to work at and drawing materials. You will not have access to printmaking facilities (as inductions are required unless you have prior print workshop experience).
