Gaada is pleased to announce the publication of the first comic in the fantasy saga Reigniting Flame, Issue 1 by Shetland illustrator and storyteller, Rhys Mouat. The launch will be accompanied by an exhibition of Rhys’ work in Gaada’s outside exhibition space Display, and will run from March 5th until the April 1st.
Rhys Mouat is an illustrator and storyteller, based in Bixter, Shetland. Rhys takes inspiration from a wide range of media from the realms of fantasy Gaming and Animation.
Issue 1 of Reigniting Flame spans Chapters 1 - 3 of the tale and follows the adventures of sibling protagonists Shirifuari and Shiranuri through a medieval world of bandits, armies and dark forces – where they begin to uncover a mysterious returning threat. The exhibition includes several large prints from the comic as well as additional visual material from the Reigniting Flame wider universe.
This comic has been developed by Rhys over the past 14 months, with the first volume spanning the first 3 chapters of his staggering 10 part saga.
Reigniting Flame Issue 1 is available to purchase online at www.gaada.org/shop and also during weekdays from the Art Honesty Box next to the Gaada flagpole.

Display is a new distanced outdoor gallery space located outside the Gaada visual art workshop in Burra, Shetland.
Gaada welcomes visitors to view the current Display within the gravelled area outside the building, however we politely request that at this time, visitors do not enter the building without prior appointment. This ensures Gaada is able to continue maintaining a safe working environment within the workshop.
